Prefabricated Timber Structures for Waldorf Astoria Resort, Maldives
Touchwood proudly contributed to the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Maldives project by supplying a variety of prefabricated timber structures and custom wood elements. Working closely with the highly experienced main timber contractor, Borneo Benar, we delivered the premium craftsmanship expected from a five-star luxury resort.
To ensure exceptional durability against the Maldives’ coastal environment, we utilized 100% Yellow Balau wood throughout the resort’s construction. This high-performance tropical hardwood provided the strength and resilience necessary for beachfront architecture.
Our team designed, supplied, and installed a range of prefabricated bungalows, beach villas, and cabanas, all featuring synthetic thatch roofing that complements the resort’s eco-luxury concept. Exterior walls were crafted from solid timber, combined with our prefabricated cement board panels internally, which were finished with premium render, tiling, or decorative surfaces to achieve the signature aesthetic of Waldorf Astoria.
